Its very expensive compared to other areas I have stayed, I wouldn't have stayed here if it wasn't for the cycling. You can get way better value else where. Its got everything you need, although was disappointed the gondola from the valley up, was running in the summer. would have expected this being a MTB resort in the summer.

Meribel - Mottaret is a great resort a little higher and smaller than Meribel. It’s ideal for families as has many ski-in out options. At Easter it was fairly quiet, no queues and plenty of Space. Weather was changeable but we had very good snow 3 /5 days. The restaurants are decent and there is a good supermarket. All very easy to navigate. ESF ski school recommended.

We went to meribel for downhill mountain biking.
We went to meribel for downhill mountain biking. While there are a few red and black trails, which favour a downhill bike, most trails and tracks are better suited with an enduro bike. If you don't mind a little bit of pushing uphill, it's fine either way.
Most "Bikepark" tracks are on the easier side suited well for beginners. Elite/pro tracks are harder to find, but those that exist are fun to ride with well built jumps and drops / obstacles. I wouldn't mind to have more of those though.
The enduro trails are panoramic and absolutely superb. The view from the mountains is just stunning. Descent is sometimes over 1000hm which is really amazing.
All three valleys can be accessed with chair lifts by a single ticket. The price is totally fair.
Summed up, for hardcore Bikepark riding an area like Chatel/Avoriaz/Morzine is probably a bit better, but for a good mixture of DH/Enduro Meribel and surrounding area is just perfect. Would bring both bikes next time though ;)

I have been to Meribel for a week's skiing before and had a great time. Now I visit often for just the day as we stay in Chamagny en vanoise which is just across the valley from Courcheval and has access to la Plagne, Champagny is a cute tradition French village and just feels like you're in France unlike some other ski resorts. From here we can ski La Plagne and Les Arcs or drive 20 mins to Courcheval to mix up the week a little.
Hotel location is excellent - genuinely ski-in / ski-out. The ski room is well organised and access could not be simpler with access also through to a good ski and boot-hire shop on the same level. Equally easy is the access to the piste next to the terrace. The food was always of a high standard.
The lounge was pleasant and leading to the large terrace. The bedrooms and bathrooms - with a bath - were clean and well-equipped.
Best of all, the staff are wonderful being both professional and friendly at the same time.
The location is great and it is super easy to get to the lifts and then back to the hotel in the afternoon. The hotel is well equipped for skiers and snowboarders with gear closets. There is a little shop nearby and also some bars/restaurants and you can easily walk down to the village for more options. The kitchen had all that I needed so it was easy to save some money. The staff was helpful and did their best to help me have a good stay.
The location is arguably one of the best in Meribell. We were so pleasantly surprised. And the outdoor facilities (pool/spa/sauna/steam room) are epic and to a high quality. Best value for money hotel I have staying in a ski resort town. Even the breakfast was far more then the simple 'continental breakfast' advertised at book.
Good sized apartment in easy walking distance to lift & village centre. Two reasonable sized bedrooms with separate shower room & toilet. Very clean & comfortable. Lots of space for the four of us to relax in the dining/lounge area. Easy access as on ground floor. A great place to stay for a ski holiday!
Best ski in/ski out facility we’ve stayed at. Right on piste. All of our meals were fantastic especially sushi party night! The staff are so lovely and really make it feel like a home away from home. The outdoor spa is a welcome treat after a day skiing. See you next year Hotel Mottaret!
An amazing property right in the heart of Meribel Centre. A fab design that is functional and fun. The little bar is a great feature. It is literally 1 minute from 2 ski hires, the ski pass issuing machine, the slopes and bars in the centre. Sauna great, parking handy.
Great ski in ski out location. Excellent studio with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was only a few minutes walk to nice bars and restaurants and easy free transport links to Meribel centre.
Very friendly staffs, in particular those working at the front desk.
The Michelin Star Restaurant L'Ekrin is just across street from the hotel. Good access if you can get reservation.
Excellent location, we were at the lifts within 2 minutes in the mornings and skied to the door of the chalet at the end of the day. No more than a 5 minute walk to the centre of Meribel
Great location and facilities Ski and boot room allowed for easy access for ski in and out. All meals were value for money and staff very helpful. Excellent spot. Very effieicnt.
The staff, the room, the village - it was all great! The spa was the best - exactly what you need after skiing. Quality of the food on breakfast and dinner.
a one minute walk to the slopes, right in the village, pool and spa and buffet meal options in the hotel all made this hotel a perfect spot for our family.
